TA for the Project to Support the Economic Integration of the Paraguayan Rural Sector (AIESRP)

The objective is to give TA service in order to implement suitable production systems, including good practices in health and logistics checks; consultancy to improve sectoral competitiveness (pigs, poultry and milk); conduct studies favouring the improvement of production quality and competitiveness; consultancy to improve health checks, quality control and production; coordination to establish points of dialogue between the institutions involved; conduct production protocols, enter new markets, disseminate existing regulations, etc. Some specific activities undertaken are:


  • Providing strategic advisory to the Vice-Ministry of Livestock, building up the capacities of human resources at public and private institutions to implement joint action plans.
  • Carrying out studies on competitiveness and quality of production in the porcine, poultry (meat production) and dairy (bovine) sectors.
  • Fostering dissemination of innovative production models through technical assistance.
  • Running of workshops to disseminate studies on production chains and competitiveness.
  • Implementation and communication to international bodies of a monitoring plan for the diseases covered by national health programmes.
  • Assisting teams of public officials running health and quality-control inspections for products.
  • Strengthening the public-private dialogue through the consolidation of public-private-academic sector round-table agenda and discussions.
